Multi-span glass greenhouse

The roof types of glass greenhouses produced by Qingzhou Changrong Greenhouse Engineering Co., Ltd. are generally flat slope roofs. Single-slope greenhouse roofs are typically multi-folded, while connected greenhouses generally have "A-frame" roofs. The structural types of "A-frame" roofs include portal frame structures, composite roof beam structures, truss roof structures, and Venlo-type structures.

(1) Portal Frame Structure The characteristic of the portal frame structure is that the roof beams and columns, as well as the connections of roof beams at the ridge, are fixed. This type of structure has relatively large internal bending moments and uses more materials. To reduce the internal bending moments of the members, tie rods are often added to portal frame roof structures, which can make the stress distribution within the structure more even and help to maximize its structural function.

(2) Truss Roof Beam Structure This structure is based on the traditional format used in civil buildings. With this structure, the cross-sectional dimensions of the members can be greatly reduced, and the greenhouse span can be extended beyond 10m. Greenhouses with large spans can reach 21–24m, significantly increasing the internal space. This structural form is commonly used in exhibition greenhouses and breeding greenhouses.

(3) Composite Roof Beam Structure In composite roof beam greenhouses, the roof beams are made of trusses, and the tie rods and web members are made of simple steel pipes or sections, which greatly enhances the load-bearing capacity of the greenhouse. Greenhouses can also be made with large spans using this structure.

(4) Venlo-Type Structure The Venlo-type structure is currently a relatively popular structural form. This structure uses horizontal trusses as the main load-bearing components, forming a stable system with the columns. The horizontal trusses are fixed to the columns, while the connection between the columns and the foundation is hinged. Each horizontal truss supports two or more small roof panels. In traditional Venlo-type structures, each span of the horizontal truss supports 2–4 small roof panels with a 3.2m span, forming standard greenhouses with spans of 6.4m, 9.6m, and 12.8m. The roof load-bearing material for this structure is aluminum alloy, serving both as roof structural material and as glass glazing material.
